Google Authorship Markup, Written Into Every Article

Google retired the rel=author rich snippet in 2014. What replaced it is structured data: an author Person node with a job title, an author-page URL, and a sameAs link to a verified profile. SEOAgent emits all three on every article it drafts, and writes the prose to read like the named author wrote it.

01 — The problem

Why Anonymous AI Content Stalls

Google's 2026 updates pushed experience and verifiable authorship to the front. Unsigned, generic AI content is exactly what they filter out.

Problem 01

It Sounds Like AI

Uniform sentences, "delve" and "tapestry," rule-of-three everywhere. Readers and search engines both recognize the pattern — and discount it.

Problem 02

No Named Author

A bare "Admin" or brand byline gives Google nothing to verify. Google's own self-assessment questions for helpful content ask who wrote the page and what makes them credible on the topic.

Problem 03

No Demonstrated Experience

Comprehensive-but-impersonal pages lose to content that shows someone actually did the thing — specific outcomes, real tradeoffs, first-hand detail.

02 — What SEOAgent does

How SEOAgent Builds Authority In

Every article is written to read like a person and attributed to a real one — so the experience and authorship signals are there before you ever hit publish.

01

First-Hand Experience Voice

The writer is instructed to take a stance, give worked examples, name specifics, and vary its rhythm — the opposite of flat AI prose — without fabricating facts or metrics.

02

A Real Author, Not "Admin"

Add yourself (or a teammate) as the site author once. Every article publishes under that named byline linked to a real author page.

03

One-Click LinkedIn Import

Paste your LinkedIn URL and SEOAgent drafts your title, bio, and credentials for you to review — the fastest path to a verifiable profile.

04

Person Schema + sameAs

Articles emit author Person structured data with your job title, author-page URL, and a sameAs link to your verified profile — exactly what rich-results validators look for.

05

Linked Author Page

A real author page lists your bio, credentials, and every article you have published — reinforcing topical authority across the whole site.

06

Written In Your Voice

Your author expertise is fed into generation, so the content matches the credibility of the byline instead of reading like a stranger wrote it.

05 — FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Google authorship still a thing?

The rel=author markup that put author photos in search results was retired in 2014, so the old implementation is gone. Authorship as structured data is not: an article can still carry an author Person node with a job title, an author-page URL, and a sameAs link to a verified profile, and that is what SEOAgent writes into the JSON-LD of every article it drafts. When no real author profile is configured it emits the Organization instead of inventing a person.

What authorship markup does SEOAgent actually emit?

A BlogPosting with an author Person node carrying name, jobTitle, the author-page URL, sameAs, and image, with the brand kept as the publisher Organization. For repo customers the article and its JSON-LD land in the repo as a draft; you review and commit it, so nothing reaches your live site without your approval.

Will the content actually pass as human-written?

SEOAgent optimizes for reading like a knowledgeable person — first-hand framing, concrete examples, varied sentence length, a clear point of view — rather than gaming AI detectors. That same quality is what readers and search engines reward. You review every article before it ships.

Do I have to use a real person as the author?

Yes, and that's the point. Google's guidance rewards real, verifiable authors and can discount fabricated credentials. Add yourself or a teammate — importing from LinkedIn makes it a two-minute job.

What if LinkedIn blocks the import?

LinkedIn sometimes blocks automated reads. If that happens, SEOAgent never fabricates a profile — you can draft a bio from your business info or fill the fields in manually instead.

How is this different from the AI Content Writer?

The AI Content Writer covers how articles get drafted from strategic briefs. Authoritative Authors covers how they read (human, experience-led) and who they are attributed to (a real, schema-backed author). They work together.
